Starting the Count Over / Quarterly Review / You are only limited by your imagination (Kind Of)

1. Starting the count over.

This is a technique that I love to use with my friends and for myself when lifting to get the next/last repetition. Whenever I am chasing after a new record in high volume sets (for me it’s anything over 10 reps, but the logic can be applied to any amount of reps), I “start the count over.” For example, my buddy was trying to get at least 6 reps on bench press, and when he got to 3 reps, I started the count over and said, “Okay, 3 more…let’s go. One, yup, you’re good, 2, there it is, 3, perfect. Great set.” Another example would be for myself when doing pushups. Instead of doing 43 reps (current maximum), I do multiple sets of 5-10 reps. It’s a great change of frame to help push you and your friends through the last repetition. Give it a try and let me know what you think!

2. Quarterly Review

Personally, I have never done one of these before. I got the idea from Sahil Bloom. If you aren’t familiar with the name, please go follow Sahil on Twitter or IG, or subscribe to his newsletter. He also has a bunch of great appearances on multiple podcasts. Sahil offers so much value in his content, and this quarterly review is a perfect example. It is simple and actionable. I look forward to completing it this week and keeping you up to date on my progress.

3. You are only limited by your Imagination (Kind Of)

Right now you can go onto websites like DALL*E 2 (by OpenAI) or DreamStudio (by Stability AI) and create art by using text to image creation. At the moment, it definitely isn't perfect but it can still make some incredible images/art. Right now, in my opinion, you still have to get the “prompt” pretty dang spot on for it to make what you want. For example, I tried to make an image of someone bench pressing with a spotter behind them for the picture/art I wanted on “Starting the count over” and both DALL*E 2 and DreamStudio struggled mightily. That being said, it is still unreal on what you can make. Oh, and even if the art isn’t that great, it makes it in like 12 seconds, so the VALUE is there. AND…it will only get BETTER with time. I recommend going and tinkering around on DALL*E 2 or DreamStudio if you haven't so you can see how incredible the A.I. is.
